Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question not answered here? Call or text us and we'll be happy to help.

Do you travel to hospitals and nursing homes?
Yes — hospital, nursing home, assisted living, and memory care facility visits are a core part of our service. We are experienced with these environments and can often accommodate urgent or same-day requests. Please contact us with the facility name, room information, and your timing needs.
Can you notarize a power of attorney?
Yes, we notarize power of attorney documents. The document must already be drafted and prepared before the appointment — we are not attorneys and cannot draft, prepare, or advise on legal documents. The signer must be present, have valid government-issued ID, and must be signing willingly and of their own accord.
What ID is required?
Each signer must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include a driver's license, state ID card, U.S. passport, or passport card. The name on the ID must match the name on the document. Expired IDs cannot be accepted. If you have questions about a specific situation, please contact us before the appointment.
Does the signer need to be alert and willing?
Yes — this is a critical requirement. The signer must be alert, aware of what they are signing, and signing of their own free will at the time of notarization. We are not able to assess legal capacity, and we cannot notarize for someone who does not appear to understand what they are signing or who appears to be under duress. If capacity is a concern, please consult the patient's physician or a licensed attorney before scheduling.
Should documents be signed before the appointment?
No — please do not sign the documents before the notary is present. The signer must sign in front of the notary for the notarization to be valid. Pre-signing a document may require it to be reprinted. Bring the unsigned document to the appointment along with valid photo ID.
Can you provide witnesses?
Witness availability is not guaranteed and varies by appointment. Please contact us in advance if your document may require witnesses. In many cases, witnesses need to be arranged by the signer's family or facility staff. If you are unsure whether your document requires witnesses, please consult the document's preparer or a licensed attorney before your appointment.
Can you give legal advice or prepare documents?
No. We are notaries, not attorneys. We cannot provide legal advice, recommend document types, draft or prepare legal documents, advise on whether a specific document is appropriate for your situation, or review documents for legal sufficiency or completeness. Please consult a licensed Minnesota attorney for legal guidance. We notarize documents you bring to the appointment.
Do you handle real estate closings?
Yes. As a licensed Minnesota Closing Agent, we handle loan signing appointments for title companies, lenders, and real estate attorneys. We can travel to borrowers at their home or any agreed location. We work with standard purchase, refinance, HELOC, and other closing packages. Contact us to schedule or for title company coordination.
How fast can you arrive?
Response time depends on our current schedule and your location. For urgent hospital and medical facility situations, we do our best to accommodate same-day or expedited appointments. Please call or text us directly for the fastest response. Advance scheduling is also available for planned appointments.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the full Twin Cities metro area including Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Burnsville, Eagan, Apple Valley, Woodbury, Maple Grove, Plymouth, and surrounding communities. Extended travel outside our standard area may be possible with additional travel fees. Contact us to confirm your location.

We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, prepare documents, or review documents for legal sufficiency. Please consult a licensed Minnesota attorney for legal guidance.
